EUobserver / Europe lacks resources to tackle cross-border crime, says Eurojust

Treaty of Lisbon may set up the framework for cross border jurisdiction. A European Prosecutors office could be established if the Treaty is ratified by all members of the EU.

  1. What are the political issues that would cause countries not to sign onto this? I have read that the new government in the UK is going to take up this issue. They have accused criminals deemed dangerous that are aquitted and cannot be deported. So it becomes a "political football"
